Strong mathematical skills are built on strong foundations. Students should ensure they are confident with basic operations, fractions, percentages, algebra and other fundamental concepts before moving to more advanced topics.
6. Learn at Your Own Pace
Not everyone understands a concept at the same speed. Students should take advantage of learning resources that allow them to pause, replay, practise and revise difficult topics until they understand them.
7. Develop a Positive Mindset
Avoid saying, “I am not good at Mathematics.” Replace it with “I don’t understand it yet, but I can learn it.” Confidence grows when students consistently practise and see their own improvement.
8. Make Mathematics Part of Everyday Life
Look for Mathematics around you—calculating discounts while shopping, comparing prices, measuring ingredients, working with time, budgeting money or interpreting graphs and statistics. This helps students see that Mathematics is not just a classroom subject; it is a tool for everyday life.
